GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Please consider a donation of any amount to Friends of Down Syndrome.
Why help? The waitlist for benefits for individuals with Down syndrome can be around 15 years. This leaves a heavy financial and practical responsibility on families and caregivers. Friends of Down Syndrome has an unmet need and must work hard for every dollar to run the Down Syndrome Academy and related programs. Please be aware that fundraising to support Houston area teens and adults with Down syndrome is 100% necessary and not a luxury. State funding and out of pocket tuition for Down Syndrome Academy only cover 68% of expenses. Fundraising is required to keep offering such a rigorous program.
