Darryl Hughes, a personal trainer who started with us as a volunteer doing fitness classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, is our Physical Education teacher Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. It’s awesome to see how much he wants to help our students. The students are working on balance, increased strength and body fat reduction. The students have made a connection with him and work very hard in his class. The students are quite proud of their accomplishments. We have a few students who have lost an amazing amount of weight and all have experienced some level of increase in their physical fitness. It’s so inspiring to hear the students cheering for one another and encouraging them when the exercises require extra effort. Each student works at a level appropriate for him/her. We have acquired some awesome fitness equipment and special rubber flooring through grants. We are very proud of what the program has developed into – a full fitness program with an impressive instructor and top notch equipment!
